2021 in review

The year 2021 has been an especially busy year for me, and now that it’s wound down, I wanted to take a few minutes to think about and jot down the top 5 highlights of the year.

  1. Probably the biggest highlight of the year was earning my Master of Fine Arts(MFA) degree. After three and a half years in graduate school, it feels a bit surreal to be finished. I went into grad school with art processes that are very different than I left with. Such a great learning experience and the ability to really focus on my art.

  2. As part of my degree, I had to plan and execute my Thesis exhibition, which is a solo show with reception. This was my first solo exhibition and was a great experience.

  3. During the Summer I started working on my website and launched it this Fall.

  4. I have a new studio that I’m moving into. As a grad student, I had a studio on campus I used, which was always preferable to moving large paintings back and forth. Now that I’ve finished my degree, I’ll be finishing setting up the new studio and getting back to painting.
